Catalytic purification

Due to its extensive experience in producing nanoparticles and in particular titanium dioxide, Ce.Ri.Col. has become interested in issues related to air purification over the years.

The  Photoreactor, a system developed by Ce.Ri.Col., to assess the effectiveness of photocatalytic  treatments, allowed to evaluate the possibility of using  ceramic filters, treated with titanium dioxide, as porous supports with a filtering function.  This study gave rise to the first PHOEBE® system, engineered so as to be the active filtration element of an AHU to treat the air in medium-large places characterized by a high degree of pollution such as, for example, the railway stations.
Simultaneously, the filter ANPHOTIS (antibacterial photocatalitic titania based system) was developed, a smaller active filtration system, for low flow rates, especially conceived for the decontamination of the air in indoor highly crowded places such as waiting rooms, pharmacies, schools, etc.  As to this filtration system it was also tested the ability to operate as a scrubber of bacteria and organic and inorganic pollutants.

AIR TREATMENT
Ce.Ri.Col. can produce materials functionalised with some of PARNASOS® products.  Specifically, cordierite spheres functionalized with  silver nanoparticles  have been developed and can be used in  water sanitization. In fact, they can be put in cartridges through which the water to be sanitized will run, for example boilers.
In order to obtain a micro-sized means where nanoparticles vehiculate, for example as a filler in plastic or resins, the functionalisation of powders of different nature (nepheline, CaCO3) is being analysed.

Ce.Ri.Col. is the ideal partner for the development of specific solutions according to customer requirements.  If necessary, it avails itself on consultants specialised in the design of filters and systems for water and air purification.
